The Gay/Straight Spare Time Debate: An Hour to Kill

CLICK GRAPH TO ENLARGE
Readers,

Looks like Gay Guy and I will never truly find common ground until Playstation releases God of War: The Swiffer Chronicles. Then, my friends, It. Is. On.

[And Mom(s), if you're reading this, don't be dismayed. You are more important to us than our crossword puzzles and iTunes accounts. We'll have to recheck our logarithms or whatever.
But please, no questions about Zappos.com or online poker unless you want the honest truth.]

Readers, leave a comment and let us know what we should graph next. You can check out all of our previous gay/straight quadrant graphs here.

You can graph anything! I totally love it--- you guys are terrific. Swiffer-- not me, but ironing I find oddly satisfying...

Keep 'em coming.

Great graph. I should do this with my straight guy and see what we come up with!

Leah and Tessie,

Welcome! Keep coming back and commenting.

Ironing: Oh, I wish I had thought of that for the graph. I find ironing oddly satisfying, too. I think it's because you can see where you've been, unlike most of life. And, you have time to think. I like to say that I've ironed out many of my problems while I've ironed my shirts.

Alas, given the tight space in my apt, I can't have my ironing board up all the time. In my dream home, I will have an ironing room.

BTW, SG is quite a competent ironer.

Again, a big welcome to you, too. Keep sending us your good vibes.

My mom is quite the ironer, BTW.

Hmmmmm....very enlightening. Hilarious and informative. Straight guys like to bake pies in their leisure time? Who knew?

Well these seem pretty restrained and free of shame... is this the whole truth? Nothing to confess?

GG is far too understated. Two things I could always count on at his house, from childhood to today: ironing and coffee. Biggest childhood memory of GG's house: Niagara Spray Starch and his mom watching soap operas. While we endeavored to kill our siblings.

T,

Welcome to the site. Thanks for the comment.

SG makes a mean pie. He's a craftsman. I make pie, too, but I am much more workman-like.

Excuse me, why is there nothing having to do with sex on this graph (with another person or with yourselves)?

The only explanations I can think of:
1) an hour is too long
2) it graphed so high in the "both like" quadrant that it's off the charts.

BTW, wait wait don't tell me is great. That, a way with words, and car talk is all I need for a good weekend.

Dear Brick and BothWays,

Wanting to know what else GG and SG would do with an hour to kill? Wanting to know where sex fits into the graph?

I can't speak for SG, but my sexual activity didn't make it onto the graph because I figured y'all would just assume I had sexual activity, while you might be dying to know about my Saturday NPR listening habits. And, really, which habit is more important or interesting? Or reliable on a weekly basis?

Better, having sex -- either with another person or by myself-- didn't have made the "hour to kill" graph because one mere hour is just not enough.

If I were going to add an hour to kill that's tinged with shame, it would be "stalking my ex-boyfriend."

Uck, better stick to working the Swiffer.
