Gay/Straight Clothing Debate: "Clothes Make The Man...
... Naked people have little or no influence on society." -- Mark Twain, 1894
"But slightly more than anyone wearing Dockers." -- Gay Guy, 2009
Readers, any surprises? Omissions?
Pretty much as I would have predicted on the Levis and Calvin Klein, but I was surprised by our shared, passionate hatred of A&F.

I'm surprised that GG likes Lands End. I'm NOT surprised that SG likes Hanes. Do you like Fruit of the Loom as well, SG?
I'm picturing how handsome you'd both look in your nice Brooks Brothers suits...silk ties...little pocket squares....
When was the last time you two got dressed up fancy-schmancy for an event (at the same time)?
My beef with Abercrombie and Fitch is that beyond the soft core porn advertising, there is nothing about it that has any value for a man over the age of 25, a weight of 135, and a healthy range BMI. Who are they kidding?
Plus, at least at the store nearest me, they keep it so dark you can't see anything, which maybe is the point.
I go in once a summer on my quest for cheap shorts.
I love that all I have to do to pick out my fellow queer peers in the gym is see who is wearing 2xist.
Abercrombie tries way too hard to make it look like they are not trying at all.
Kathryn,
No pocket squares . . . .
Dress up fancy-schmancy, at the same time, in the same place . . . . . April.
Ezra, you must be right because I've never even heard of 2xist. I also live in the middle of nowhere, so it might be geographical orientation more than sexual.
The brand that is missing is......"Members Only" which to straight girls meant (20 some odd years ago)..what the F...? Does he like girls or boys. Personally, it was just a sign to walk away slowly.. Does Members Only, or an equivalent still exist?
My beef is when grown men, especially in their 40s and even 50s, squeeze themselves into A&F clothes, thinking that they look young, cool, and hot. NOT. They look ridiculous.
Don't know if this happens in the straight world, but plenty of gay men are guilty.
