Happy New Year Folks. Here's a few additions to Straight Guy's comments on our 2008 stats.
We've found readers in the usual suspects of New York, San Francisco, D.C., L.A., and Chicago, but also Yukon, Oklahoma. In fact, we've had hits from almost every state in the U.S. No pressure, but North Dakota, come home, all is forgiven.
Most of our readers are from the United States, but in the month of December alone, we had hits from 28 different countries. From top to bottom (geographically speaking), we've had hits in Tromso, Norway, and Rosario, Argentina. I'm touched that we have regular hits from countries where it might not feel completely safe to type the words 'gay guy' into a search engine.
Keep us bookmarked and write us -- we love hearing from you.
Happy 2009!

Oh, MAJOR congrats guys....
It just goes to show that you don't have to have a whole TON of comments to mean that someone out there is actually listening. I'm glad to hear that you are well on your way to being a world-wide HIT.
I'm sure a reader is a reader, but any guesses how many hits are from folks looking for something a little more...NSFW? Is "gay guy/ straight guy" a porn genre? But, "two friends of divergent sexual orientations.com" isn't a real attention-grabber, so you made the right call.
Oh yeah. We get those hits, too. What can we do? I assume those are the readers who average 0.00 minutes on the blog. When they don't find the "content" they were hoping for, they're off to another site.
Our readers are pretty evenly split: 1/2 new, 1/2 returning for more. The search terms are sometimes interesting, revealing, and yes sometimes NSFW.
