The Call of the Mini-Van

Straight Guy,

Is the rumor true? Are you now the owner of a mini-van?

A few years ago, a mini-van was proof that hot guy at the gym was straight. (Like the ring wasn't proof enough.) Today, I know a bunch of gay dads --single and partnered -- with mini-vans. Plus parent-teacher conferences and T-ball

I am happy for them. . . and for you. So, tell me all about the new ride.

My son began demanding a mini-van last year. I don't know if it was the vehicle that appealed to him or the multiple TV screens that seem to come in it. I offered to put wheels on the TV set - I've not heard back from his people on that.

Eh, my brother is as straight as can be and wouldn't drive anything but a min-van right now. Makes it easier to haul around two young girls, a dog, etc. He does seem to get wistful now and then for his old Trans-Am though...

I've noticed many senior citizens now drive minivans...what's up with that? When I see them, they're usually all alone in the car. They tend to drive as slow as the distracted soccer moms. I cannot get past that. SG: Will you have a bumper sticker that says "My other car is a Jag"?

I think the senior appeal is sitting up higher where you can see traffic...they might also be antique dealers. Or their kids are "handing up" their mini-vans once the kids are off to college and they move back to a sports car.
