Ad Watch: The Real L Word... Nice Stems

This was on the back cover of Entertainment Weekly.

Don't look right at it! You'll burn your retinas!

Two questions: (1) What's the target audience demographic for this show, again? And, (2) where's my SPF 45 sunscreen?

Does this look "real" to anyone?

Oh, note to copywriters: There are lots of options other than "love" them or "love to hate" them. How about something in "not falling for it" or the "intrigued but intimidated" range?

Nice try Showtime. Still not enough to make me switch from HBO, even if Bill Maher is taking the rest of the summer off.

Huh, not likely I'll be watching that anytime soon.

The ad looks like it's trying to hard - kinda lame!

It looks like Real Housewives of Nude Beach. and not in a good way.

TMI and NEF. Too much information and not enough foliage.

Actually, that's a bad unintended metaphor. The sun is setting on her vajayjay. Hope she didn't have any plans for it.

Oh...I thought the sun was shining out of her vajayjay. And they left out the subtitle: "Real Lesbians Who Fit Every Straight Guy's Fantasy About What Lesbians Look Like"

Oh, those poor actresses. (We are assuming they're actresses, right?)

They must be mortified....not the sort of advertising you can't wait to send to everyone you know.

But maybe that's just me.

Awful.

I've heard the expression, 'sun shining out of your ass,' but never 'sun shining out of your' . . . was it vajayjay?

These are beyond Lipstick Lesbians.

Apparently real lesbians are watching this show - at least my friend and her posse in Connecticut. I haven't quizzed her directly, just read their posts on Facebook - the real social networking = don't talk to anyone, just eavesdrop.
