Gay Guy Heel Thyself? Horn of Plenty?

Straight Guy,

Sorry to be a bit out of touch. Was on vacation here. San Francisco. Go figure.

I am sooooo gay. Today I clean out a drawer in my desk at work. Not one, not two, but three shoe horns. I guess it relates to the three pair of shoes and one pair of gym sneaks under my desk.

Any Metrosexuals out there want to weigh in here?

I have never used a shoehorn but have a few dirty socks stashed somewhere in my office. What does say?

Okay, I realize you didn't specify if this topic was open to us gals, but...what does it mean if I keep a shoe horn in my purse?? I can't tell you how many times I've slipped off my shoes in a meeting and then I can't get them back on.
Am I pathetic?

Sipsie,

Miss Estelle Getty is dead and you are wondering about shoe horns? I would think you would be sitting gay shiva! You should be ashamed.

Straight guy,

Miss Estelle Getty was on a sitcom popular with older ladies and gay men of all ages. It now runs approximately 27 times a day on the Lifetime - Television for Women and Gay Men network.

She also originated the role of Harvey Fierstein's character's mother in Torch Song Trilogy. Ask gay guy for that explanation.

Wait... Gay Guy is also known as "Sipsie"? Perfect. And, FWIW, I've always assumed that his flare for zingers (around here anyway) could be traced to the Golden Girls.

And what is with all of you who need so much extra leverage to put on a pair of shoes? If it's that tight, buy a half size up, or get one of those binding contraptions that keep Chinese princess feet so dainty.

Straight Guy,

The best thing about emailing Sipsie.....spell check offers these alternatives: "sepsis" and "sissies."

I love it and laugh out loud everytime. Like Gay Guy himself, it never gets old!!

One of the "history mystery artifacts" my museum trots out in elementary school programs - What do you think this is? How do you think it was used? - is a shoe horn. Almost no one guesses what it is (was). So if your child can identify a shoe horn, is this an early indication he's gay? Or maybe not, I don't remember GG being obsessed with shoe horns when we were kids.
