Make Mine a Latte

Readers,

Sorry to be quiet here on the site. I was out some of last week at a conference, and SG is out this week spending some quality time with Mrs. Straight Guy.

I just received an e-mail from a former colleague whom I've not seen in years. He reminded me of this story. Our boss took us out to a holiday dinner. At the end of the evening, the waiter collected our coat check tags to get us our coats.

"What color is your coat?" he asked me.

"Cappuccino," I replied.

Not brown. Cappuccino. Gay.

Is it my fault that I know a lot about color?

My friend's wife is still laughing about it.

GG: From what I've learned about you from the blog, nothing about the exchange between you and the waiter surprises me.

SG: Is he always like this?

Sounds better than beige or taupe.

So, was the waiter gay or straight? I'm guessing getting the correct cappuccino coat would have a lot to do with orientation.

I stand by your description and find nothing odd by it. Now if you'd described it as "latte" that would have been all together different ;-)

Better than straight-up brown, in my book.

If you're gay you're gay. Cappuccino is perfect!

Oh, GG. You'd probably announced to all your friends that you'd found the perfect coat in the most perfect shade of cappuccino.

Dammit. Now I'm thirsty.
